Masonry is the art of building using single units of a material such as brick and concrete that are bound together by mortar. Another materials that are often used in masonry are glass,limestone,granite,marble and tile. Masonry is considered a skilled job and people that work in the field are often paid very well. No matter what type of work you are doing there is a masonry safety checklist that you should use each time you do a job.

Masonry Job Checklist
1.Are all employees wearing safety goggles.
2.Make sure all clothes a fitted and not hanging off of you
3.Wearing steel toed boots to protect your feet from falling materials
4.Check hard hat for cracks or dents before wearing
5.Are all walkways clean and free of debris
6.Is all scaffolding secure
7.Check all equipment before using it to be sure it is in proper working condition
8.If you are using buggies or trowels is the area properly ventilated
9.Inspect shoring equipment before and after concrete is placed
10.Forms and Shores are left in place until concrete can hold it’s own weight
11.Are respirators available for workers using sandblasters
12.Are all masonry saws guarded

A masonry safety checklist will help you make the workplace a safe environment. Masonry can be a difficult job with many guidelines that you need to follow. A masonry safety checklist is a great way to be sure you never over look a safety issue.
