Work can be a dangerous place. There is a potential for someone to get hurt every day, and you must find a way to avert these crises. Whether you can do it is a question of resourcefulness and determination. There are probably regulations passed down from your corporate office, but corporate isn't there in your workplace, is it? With that being the case, consider a few of the ways you can make your place of work a little bit safer.

Instructions

1. Accept that things need to change. This isn't going to be easy. Typically, employees do not like change in the workplace. Working together, however, you should be able to show them that these changes are for the better, and that over time they will be much safer, even if it seems like a bit of a nuisance right now.

2. Sit down with other members of management and create some sort of plan. This plan should include all of the current safety hazards and what you plan to do about them. Everyone should be given a specific task so that the plan is sure to be followed. If possible, create some sort of reward system for the employees.

3. Begin cleaning your workplace. Make sure it is sanitary, and most of all that it is safe. For instance if you work in a warehouse, the warehouse floor should be clear of obstructions and the floor should be clean.

4.Install some items that will promote safety such as eye-washing stations and fire extinguishers. This might seem like an unnecessary expense right now, but soon enough you will see the use of them. This will also keep your company from being sued for injuries.

5.Meet with your employees. Make them aware of the current safety hazards and tell them what they can do to make their workplace safer. Use some sort of reward system to encourage them if you must, but remember that safety starts with the actions of the regular employees.
