Working with chemicals can be extremely dangerous if the correct precautions are not taken. Chemicals in the workplace should only be handled by people educated in chemical safety. Even if the person is a professional there are still chemical safety tips that everyone should follow.

Chemicals and be extremely volatile. Incorrect use can result in severe injuries such as burns and even fatalities. There are guidelines for chemical use in the workplace. Below are a few chemical safety tips that can help prevent injury.

When working with chemicals that could become airborne you should always have on a protective mask.

All employees should know how to properly use the eye wash.

If a spill occurs and gets on your clothes they should be removed immediately to prevent injury.

Keep all flammable chemicals away from any heat source or electrical appliances.
Have local emergency numbers posted where everyone can see them
