Gpo Construction Safety

The GPO is the United States Government Printing Office. Under Title 24 -- Housing and Urban Development, the GPO has produced a set of standards governing construction safety.

Documentation

Under Title 24, the relevant documentation exists in Chapter 20, Part 3280 -- Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards. This document contains about 160 detailed sections that provide a wide range of information on the GPO`s construction safety standards.

Contents

The information in this document is very wide in scope and provides information on safety issues surrounding a number of construction-related subjects. A short list of the 160 sections includes certification labels, room size requirements, firestopping, air filtration, heat loss, heat gain, fuel supply systems, heat producing appliances, equipment safety, electrical testing, grounding and power supplies.

Availability

The public may view the document in its entirety by downloading files from the GPO web site. As of January 2011, only individual sections, and not the document as a whole, may be downloaded. Files are available in .txt and .pdf formats.
