Construction Safety Manager Job Description

A construction safety manager oversees and directs all policies with regards to an employer's safety program. The manager develops and administers programs that educate employees on, and ensure compliance with, all regulations issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other government agencies.

Policies and Procedures

Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of all laws surrounding construction safety, a construction safety manager develops and implements policies, procedures and other company-wide safety standards.

Investigations

Following incidents of construction-related accidents, a construction safety manager performs a thorough investigation to ensure that all required policies were followed.

Performance Tracking

A construction safety manager develops and maintains a tracking system to monitor all construction-related accidents.

Education Required

A construction safety manager should possess a four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary institution within construction engineering, occupational safety or a related field of study. Annual Compensation
