A bucket truck is exactly what it sounds like a bucket is placed on the end of an electric lift that is attached to a truck. The bucket is intended to hold a person in it while it is lifted up. They are most often used to repair telephone and electrical lines. Using a bucket can be dangerous id you do not follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Check the bucket each morning before it is used. You should look for cracks or any sign of wear. It is important to make sure the integrity of the bucket is not compromised. No one wants to be 40 feet in the air with the risk of falling out.

Make sure all controls are clearly and properly marked.

Check each control to make sure they are working properly and not malfunctioning in any way.

The truck should always be parked on solid and level ground when you intend to use the bucket.

Any person working in the bucket is required to wear a safety harness that is secured to the truck.

Always keep both feet on the floor of the bucket. Never lean over the side of the bucket.
