Working with lasers can be dangerous if it is used incorrectly. There are many professions that use lasers while working jobs from construction to labs require the use of lasers. Laser safety training will help keep your employees safe no matter what job they are doing. If used incorrectly a laser can cause permanent damage to your eyes. High exposure to lasers can burn the corneas
causing blind spots and complete loss of your vision. There are three types of goggles you can wear to protect your eyes. Laser safety training classes will help you decide which pair is best for your job.
The first pair of laser goggles are spectacles. They are designed to be similar to glasses. You can even have them customized with your prescription if you really wear glasses to help with your sight. Spectacles also have side blinders to block harmful laser rays. The second pair are regular goggles. They can be worn over your prescription glasses. Goggles are made to fit snug and securely against your face. Goggles are generally thicker and heavier than other laser glasses. The third pairs are wraps they do just what the names states they wrap around your face for maximum protection. Wraps are made from one solid piece of plastic and are the lightest of all the laser safety glasses.

4.Use surfaces that are non reflective.
5.Never point the beam at doors or windows.
6.Keep beam at or below waist level. Never use a laser at eye level.

8.Beam blockers and black screens should be used when possible
9.The laser should be secured in place to reduce any accidentally bumps that may cause the laser beam to move.
10Just like all equipment keep the laser clean and have it maintained regularly to insure it is working properly.
11.The work area should be free of dust particles which can interfere with the beam.
Place signs on all doors where lasers are being used to warn workers not to enter without the proper protective gear.
